Troopers seize more than 200 pounds of drugs in traffic stops

Authorities arrested four people and seized more than 200 pounds of drugs between two traffic stops on Interstate 80 on Wednesday.

The first stop happened near North Platte when a Nebraska State Trooper pulled a vehicle for speeding. A search turned up three pounds of marijuana, 39 THC vape cartridges, THC edibles, THC syrup and drug paraphernalia, the patrol said.

The driver, Eric Robinson, 19, and passengers, Anthony Davis, 22, and Amere Thomas, 21, all of New York state, were arrested on drug charges and lodged in Lincoln County Jail.

The second stop occurred near Darr, when a K9 detected drugs inside a van that the patrol said failed to signal a turn.

The patrol said 198 pounds of marijuana, 800 dosage units of THC edibles, 79 vape cartridges, 18 ounches of psilocybin mushrooms, vials of steroids and a loaded handgun were found inside. 

The driver, Brent Lorenz, 50, of Fargo, North Dakota, was arrested for numerous drug charges and lodged in Dawson County Jail.
