TSCI inmate assaults staff member

An inmate at TSCI assaulted a staff member, resulting in serious injury

TECUMSEH, Neb. (KLKN)- On Tuesday at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI), an inmate assaulted a staff member, resulting in a serious injury.

The staff member stopped the inmate after he had left the dining hall, directing him to get rid of food he had in his pocket. The inmate refused, and then punched the staff member in the face, repeatedly.

The attack went on as another staff member told the inmate to stop. More prison personnel go to the scene and helped restrain the inmate.

The staff person is getting treatment at a local hospital for injuries to his face and head.

“Results of the investigation will be provided to the county attorney for determination of criminal prosecution. The NDCS disciplinary process will be utilized with sanctions, such as loss of good
time, applied according to the rules and regulations,” the TSCI press release said.
