Two arrested in north Lincoln crash involving stolen car, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people tried running away Thursday after crashing a stolen car in north Lincoln, police say.

The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Cotner Boulevard and Holdrege Street around 10:30 a.m.

One of the vehicles involved, a black Hyundai Elantra, had been reported stolen earlier that morning, according to police.

The two occupants of the Hyundai tried fleeing from the scene, but officers caught up and took them into custody.

Police did not identify the suspects.  One of them was taken to a hospital with injuries to their face.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Police said there was a “bunch of” reports of vandalism that morning near 40th Street and Normal Boulevard.

But they are unsure if the crash is connected to any of those reports.
