Two construction projects begin this week, plan commute accordingly

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)  — Two road construction projects are expected to start in Nebraska this week, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT).

US-77, Near Ceresco:

Weather permitting, a concrete repair project will begin Wednesday, Sept. 16, on US-77.

State maintenance forces will be performing the repair from Reference Post 81 to Reference Post 82, one mile south of Ceresco.

The work is anticipated to take three days. Traffic will be maintained with one lane restriction. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

Randolph Street:

Randolph Street, between South 40th and South 48th streets, will remain closed until Friday, Oct. 9 for a scheduled water main replacement project. The street has been closed since the end of August for new sanitary sewer installation. That project was completed September 11 and the water main project begins this week.

Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route, but access to homes and businesses will be maintained.
