Two Lincoln schools receive blue ribbons from federal government

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Five Nebraska schools, two of which are in Lincoln, are being heralded for their academic performance.

The five schools that received blue ribbons from the federal government are Adams Elementary and Humann Elementary in Lincoln, Johnson-Brock Public Schools of Johnson, Westside Elementary in Norfolk and Skutt Catholic High in Omaha.

Nationwide, 297 schools were awarded the blue ribbon, which recognizes schools for academic performance and for closing academic achievement gaps.

The Adams and Humann principals shared the news with students and staff Friday morning.

Ten schools in Lincoln Public Schools have earned this award since its inception nearly 40 years ago.
