Two Nebraska High Schools Sending Marching Bands to D.C.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. & WAHOO, Neb. (KLKN) – Grand Island Senior High (GISH) and Bishop Neumann Catholic High School (BNHS) have sent their marching bands to Washington D.C.
Both bands will will be part of the National Independence Day celebration by performing in the annual July 4 parade marching through D.C.
According to GISH, Dr. Evan Lee, the GISH Band Director, said the band is proud to represent the community and have been rehearsing for the large audience.
The BNHS band will perform for the large audience and also a watch party stationed in their hometown of Wahoo, Neb.
Both schools and bands expressed excitement and pride for the opportunity. They said it took a lot of effort to prepare for this big of an event.
