Two Nebraska teens arrested following lengthy chase in stolen vehicle in Dodge County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two Nebraska teenagers were arrested on Thursday morning following a lengthy chase in a stolen vehicle.

Around 6:15 a.m., a deputy with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office saw a white 2019 Ford F-150 traveling west on 23rd Street in Fremont with no headlights.

The deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over and fled west on 23rd Street.

As the chase continued, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed at the intersection of Military Avenue and County Road 18.

The driver and passenger fled on foot from the crash.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 15-year-old driver was caught immediately, and the 14-year-old passenger continued to run from the scene of the crash. Authorities said he was later arrested.

The driver was taken to a local hospital in Fremont for evaluation.

Authorities said the vehicle involved was stolen overnight from Hooper, Nebraska.

The sheriff’s office said the teens’ names will not be released, and the incident remains under investigation.
