Police believe they have information critical to the case

KEARNEY, Neb. (KLKN) – Nearly 10 days after a man was killed in Kearney, two teens connected to the case have been arrested.

Back on Jan. 16 Lexington’s Jared Shinpaugh, 31, was killed.  Joseph Garcia, 29, also of Lexington was treated for a gunshot wound and released.  Police told Channel 8 Morris and Chamberlin likely had information about the shooting, and Morris may have been injured as well.

Morris and Chamberlin are listed as inmates of Buffalo County Jail, though they were taken to Hall County Jail after their arrests.

According to a complaint filed in Buffalo County Court, the teens were wanted for possession of defaced firearm, possession of stolen firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (marijuana) while in possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance (more than one pound of marijuana), which are all felonies.
