LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- The U.S. Labor Department shows the job market continues to suffer.

Another 885,000 people filed for first-time unemployment benefits last week–that’s more than the 800,000 claims expected and the highest weekly total since September

It’s actually the fourth time in the past five weeks that first-time claims have increased.

Meantime-Continuing claims, which track the total number of Americans seeking jobless benefits, fell to 5.5 million.
