Uncle Sam Jam Changes Time Due to Heat

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The City of Lincoln announced today that Uncle Sam Jam, the Independence Day celebration at Haymarket Park, will be changing its original times due to the expected high heat on Friday, July 3. The time has been changed from 5 to 6 p.m. and will include all the original plans.

The celebration will consist of a veterans recognition program, live music and a fireworks display.

The fireworks display is sponsored by Pepsi-Cola of Lincoln and will be set off alongside music provided by NRG Media/Broadcast House that will be played in the stadium.

The temperature for Friday, July 3 is expected to reach a high of 96 degrees, supporting the decision to postpone it by an hour.
