UNL Freshman arrested after posting bomb threats to social media towards University Chancellor

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A University of Nebraska- Lincoln Freshman was arrested Thursday after reportedly posting a bomb threat to social media towards Chancellor Ronnie Green.

According to UNL Police, 18-year-old Jude Almquist was arrested Thursday afternoon in his dorm after he posted on Yik-Yak that he “put a bomb inside Chancellor Ronnie Greens office.”

The post read as: “Just planted a 2nd B0mb in the chancellors office!!! #HesMyChancellor.”

According to court documents, the post was made on, about, or between, August 31st and September 6, 2021.

After UNL Police deployed the Explosive Detection K9 Unit, authorities said no bomb was found.

UNL Police said the Nebraska Freshman is currently behind bars and faces one count of Terroristic Threats (a Class 3A felony.)
