UPDATE: Accident involving Waverly school van

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An accident involving a Waverly Public School van took place this morning around 11:55 am at the intersection of Waverly Rd and N 56th St (US 77).

The Waverly school van was headed West at the intersection of Waverly Road and US 77, with one driver and two students in the vehicle.  At the time it is unknown where the van was going.

A black Honda was headed North on US 77, the driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As of 1:00 pm, it has not been determined who is at fault for the accident.  The Waverly van did have a stop sign and the Honda did not.

The accident has been cleared and the area is open for traffic again.

Nebraska State Patrol will be handling the investigation moving forward.
