UPDATE: Buffalo Creek Fire at 50% containment

A total of 15 fire departments have been fighting the fires that began on Sunday.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Buffalo Creek Fire in Banner and Scotts Bluff Counties is at 50% containment as of Tuesday, according to officials.

A total of 15 fire departments have been fighting the fires that began on Sunday.

According to NEMA Preparedness and Operations Section Manager Earl Imler, a total of 2,595 acres have been burned, 15% on private land.

Ilmer said there have been no damages to any structures and no injuries have been reported.

“We want to especially thank the fire departments and firefighters who have worked so hard to bring this blaze under control,” Imler said.
