UPDATE: Lincoln man identified as victim of fatal stabbing in Utica

Authorities have identified a Lincoln man as the victim of a fatal New Year’s Day stabbing in Utica. 

The Seward County Sheriff’s Office said Stephen D. Jones, 39, of Lincoln, died at a Seward hospital after being stabbed by 27-year-old Donald K. Polcyn, of Utica. 

Deputies responded to the stabbing call at a Utica home around 1 a.m. Wednesday, where they immediately apprehended Polcyn. He was booked for second-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. 

According to court documents, Jones was stabbed twice in the torso during a fight with Polcyn, which came after Jones assaulted Polcyn’s brother.
