UPDATE: LPD identifies shooter in Thursday morning shooting
Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
UPDATE: LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police have identified 38-year-old David Hickman, Jr. as the shooter in the Thursday morning shooting.
Hickman was located at a residence in the 1700 block of N 27th St and was taken into custody without incident, according to LPD.
Police found Hickman to be a convicted felon, prohibiting him from owning a gun.
Hickman’s charges included 1st Degree Assault, and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, according to LPD.
The 46-year-old male that was shot remains in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
UPDATE: LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police identified a 46-year-old male in the shooting Thursday morning near N. 27th and Fair St.
The man had gunshot wounds to the legs and was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers are processing the scene for evidence, canvassing the area and are searching for video evidence.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police responded to a report of gunshots around 12:15 a.m. Thursday morning in the area of N. 27th and Fair St. When police arrived on the scene, officers located shell casings in an alleyway.
Authorities say a man walked into an area hospital with gunshot wounds sometime after the shooting occurred. LPD tells Channel 8 the man’s injuries are non-life threatening.
Police say the shooting happened in the alleyway that connects Fair St. and Potter St., and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
LPD is still determining how the incident happened.
