Vazquez charged with first-degree murder
LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) — Today, Felipe Vazquez has been charged with seven counts, including murder in the first-degree. This means he could be facing maximum sentencing of life in prison for this charge. Some of the other counts include attempted assault of an officer in the first-degree, use of a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a firearm by a fugitive, escape using force or a deadly weapon, and possession of a stolen firearm.
The state will no longer be setting bond, due to the nature of the crimes.
Vazquez’s attorney has entered a plea of not guilty.
His next hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22 at 10 a.m.
