Vehicle crashes into Lincoln home

A vehicle crashed into a Lincoln home Monday afternoon.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. just north of 11th St. and Cornhusker Highway.

Neighbors said they ran outside to the sound of sirens and saw an SUV lodged in a house.

There’s no damage estimate yet, but Lincoln Fire and Rescue said some restoration crews will be going out to shore up the house.

They said they haven’t determined why the driver lost control of the vehicle.

“That’s still under investigation right now,” said Capt. Dave Kluthe.  “We’re trying to determine that, along with LPD.”

LFR said the driver was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non–life–threatening injuries.

None of the residents were home and their three dogs were okay.
