Very windy today and much cooler 4/7/2022

Get ready for another messy hair day! Wind gusts are already gusting up to 30-50 mph across southeast Nebraska this morning. These strong wind gusts will persist into the afternoon with gusts over 50 mph likely near the Tri-Cities and around 40+mph wind gusts further eastward. A Wind Advisory and High Wind Warning have been issued across eastern Nebraska as result and will remain in effect until late this evening. Temperatures will struggle to warm today as a result of increasing clouds this afternoon and likely will only top out in the low to mid-40s. Grab your coats too, because wind chill values will make it feel like the 30s all day. Spotty showers are possible this afternoon and evening with the chance for a few flurries. As temperatures drop this evening and the last of the system pushes eastward, a few lingering flurries will continue to fall overnight. This will lead to a dusting for some into tomorrow morning. We warm up into the weekend with highs back in the 70s and a much drier forecast.
