VFW hall gets fresh coat of paint courtesy of 2 Lincoln businesses

The Veterans of Foreign Wars hall on West A is getting a new look thanks to some volunteers and donations.

The building was known for its teal, but now sports a fresh coat of Navy blue. It’s all because two local businesses, Paint Techs and All Color Paint, spent Thursday using 20 gallons of paint donated by Sherwin Williams to spruce up the building.

Their work did not go unnoticed.

“They are out here talking, thanking us for what we’ve done and it makes you proud to be a veteran and its good we’ve got people that’s never been a veteran that appreciates the ones before us, said VFW Commander Earl Motschenbacher.

Motschenbacher said the building had never been painted in the 17 years he’d been there. He said the VFW welcomes anyone – not just veterans – who want to stop by.
