Wahoo man arrested on child pornography charges

The Nebraska State Patrol says 41-year-old William Sloup, of Wahoo, was arrested in Lincoln Tuesday afternoon.

The arrest followed an investigation that began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

A press release says investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol Technical Crimes Division, working with the Wahoo Police Department and Saunders County Sheriff’s Office, helped arrested Sloup on 10 charges of distribution of child pornography.

Upon investigation it was discovered that Sloup had sexually explicit images involving children on his phone, according to authorities.

Sloup has been lodged in Saunders County Jail on 10 charges of distribution of visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct, each a class 1D Felony.

The investigation is still underway.
