Wahoo Police: semi driver attempts to hit officer, then uses baseball bat

The Wahoo Police Department says a semi driver drove his truck towards an officer, during a domestic disturbance call Tuesday evening.
Both the Wahoo Police Department and Saunders County Sheriff’s Office were called to a domestic disturbance near the 400 block of East 2nd St. in Wahoo.
When they arrived, officers were confronted by the man in a semi.
The driver accelerated into a yard and toward an officer.
He then reentered the street and accelerated toward and crashed into a Wahoo Police car and Saunders County Sheriff’s car.
All three vehicles came to a rest in the yard of a nearby home.
The suspect then got out of the truck and came towards an officer with a baseball bat.
The officer has been treated and released from the hospital, and the man is now in custody.
He now faces charges of attempted murder of a police officer, second-degree assault of a police officer, two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony and two counts of criminal mischief over $5,000.
Both law enforcement vehicles were totaled.
