Walmart turns Black Friday into a month-long event
Walmart is turning Black Friday into Black November this holiday season.
Last month, the major retailer announced they would be adapting to meet holiday shopper’s needs during the pandemic. So, instead of a single Black Friday, Walmart will be holding three saving events, called “Black Friday Deals for Days.”
Each event will start online and continue in stores. Customers will also have the option to pick up Black Friday orders via a contact-free curbside pickup service.
Walmart representatives say they spread out their savings event to protect the health and safety of their employees and customers during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Walmart stores will open at 5 a.m. local time on Black Friday in-store event days,” said Scott McCall, Walmart executive vice president, and chief of merchandising. “Customers will form a single, straight line to enter the store. Associates will hand out sanitized shopping carts to customers to help with social distancing, and Health Ambassadors will be placed at entrances to greet customers and remind them to put on a mask.”
