Warm and dry weather remains for now

Tuesday is shaping up to be another warm, dry, and quiet day. We’ll see a mixture of sun and clouds, with lots of puffy fair-weather cumulus clouds into the afternoon. We expect temperatures to be a few degrees warmer too, with middle-80s a possibility in many spots.

Rain chances will be hard to come by on Tuesday, and for that matter, even on Wednesday. There could be some scattered showers and storms in the area on Thursday, however.

Tuesday Forecast

The latest data are suggesting dry conditions in eastern Nebraska on Friday and Saturday. That may be a different story in western Nebraska, where storms may be a little more active on both of those days. However, Lincoln appears dry.

Those rain chances may slide east closer to Memorial Day and into next week. That is still too far out, so the details remain unclear. There is anywhere from a 33-40% chance that eastern Nebraska sees above-average precipitation Sunday through next Thursday.

6-10 Day Precipitation Outlook

For reference, the normal amount of precipitation during that period is about 0.8″ in Lincoln. I’m sure everyone would welcome 0.8″ of rain.
