WATCH: Fox seen roaming Lincoln neighborhood

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A fox was spotted roaming around a neighborhood in north Lincoln today.

Although not very common, the U.S. Humane Society says seeing foxes out during the day is “no cause for alarm.”

Foxes generally avoid people, but if seen in highly populated areas they are just looking for food.

With this in mind, make sure all of your garbage is secure and that you don’t leave any pet food outside if foxes tend to be in your area.

Homeowners are also advised to keep pets indoors out of precaution.

The situation is unlikely, but if a fox does approach you, make loud noises to scare it away.

However, if you have concerns or questions, reach out to Lincoln Animal Control for help.
