Coverage of severe weather in southeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A tornado warning was issued in Jefferson County on Thursday.

About 5:40 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 5 miles southeast of Fairbury, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service said there was radar-indicated rotation in the storm.

The storm was moving east at 15 mph.

The warning is set to expire at 6:30 p.m.

Another tornado warning was issued in Saline County earlier in the day.
