UPDATE: Repair after north Lincoln water main break may take days

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)  – UPDATE: Northbound lanes of 27th Street between Dan Avenue and Superior Street will remain closed while crews repair a water main break.

Just before 7:30 a.m., the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department reported the break and closed down northbound lanes in the area.

The department expects to have one northbound lane reopen by 3 p.m.  But it is not yet known when the road will fully reopen.

One lane will be open once the concrete is repaired.

Digital signs will alert to traffic changes in the area.

Travelers are asked to avoid the area if possible.

The department asks travelers to take Cornhusker Highway to 48th Street to Superior Street to 27th Street as a detour.

University of Nebraska football and volleyball postgame traffic, as well as those attending the state high school volleyball tournament, should expect delays when using 14th and 27th streets.
