Waverly earns first victory on the road against Beatrice
BEATRICE, Neb. (KLKN) — The Waverly Vikings traveled to take on the Beatrice Orangemen on Friday, and they’ll go home with a 28-21 win.
In the first quarter, Beatrice took advantage of an early mistake by the Vikings offense, scooping up a fumble to kill the drive.
Then on the ensuing drive, Shelton Crawford took a quarterback keeper to the house to put Beatrice up 7-0.
But Waverly responded on its next possession when quarterback Trey Jackson connected with wide receiver Preston Harms to tie things up 7-7.

On Waverly’s next drive, junior quarterback Nolan Mahhs found his way into the end zone on the ground.
Mahhs would finish the night with two rushing touchdowns, both coming before the second half.
Waverly will be back at home next Friday against Mount Michael Benedictine.
Beatrice will look for their first win of the season against Skutt Catholic on the road.
