LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Customers trying to access websites for a number of large companies and services experienced issues briefly Thursday morning.

It appears to have been caused by a service disruption at Akamai Technologies, a content delivery network services provider.

“We have implemented a fix for this issue, and based on current observations, the service is resuming normal operations,” an Akamai spokesperson said in a statement. “We will continue to monitor to ensure that the impact has been fully mitigated.”

According to downdetector.com, a site that tracks service outages in real time, companies including Amazon, Home Depot, FedEx, UPS, and McDonald’s were all impacted.

A number of banks, airlines, credit card providers and gaming companies also reported interruptions.
