Week two: Matt Rhule speaks, scouting Bowling Green

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule met with the media on Monday, reviewing the Husker’s performance following their week one win and looking ahead to Bowling Green.

The 49-21 win against Ohio marks the 100th season opener the school has won.

Bowling Green comes to Lincoln, having lost its week one matchup against Tarleton State 20-13 on Saturday at home.

This will be the first time that Nebraska has ever faced Bowling Green.

The Falcons currently sit 0-1 following their 20-13 loss to Tarleton State on Saturday.

Eddie George, a friend of Matt Rhule who’s also a former Heisman winner (1995), went 4-8 in his first season as head coach in 2025. The team went 2-6 in conference, most notably beating U Mass 45-14.

The Falcons offense in 2025 averaged just 306.5 yards per game, being the school’s obvious problem. The defense was slightly better, ranking 63rd nationally in points allowed (24.2).
