Weekend sees temperatures change from unseasonably warm to near-normal

From Friday to Saturday afternoon, Lincoln saw almost a 30-degree temperature increase as highs got into the lower 90s. Even further to the east, several areas did see just as much if not more of a jump in warmer weather to kick off the weekend.

Other than the unseasonably warm weather, winds have also shifted and will be out of the northwest in the coming days. It will be quite breezy at times!

With some partial cloud cover Saturday evening, lows are expected to be in the low 50s, closer to normal for this time of year. Winds will also calm down for most of the night, but a pattern emerges as the next couple of days see windy afternoons and calm evenings.

Winds on Saturday were seen gusting upwards of 30 miles per hour at certain times, and the wind will stick around for Sunday. The forecast shows winds picking up in the later morning hours with sustained winds anywhere from 10 to 15 miles per hour.

The transition from Saturday to Sunday will see another temperature change, from 90s to the upper 70s. Skies will be mostly sunny throughout the day with dewpoints showing a lack of humidity for a pleasant, fall day. It looks to be a great opportunity to spend some time on fall festivities and pumpkin patches!

Skycast Tomorrow

We are in another dry stretch looking at the next several days. A small chance for some precipitation exists as of now for next Friday, but the timing of an upper-level disturbance and some low-level conditions will determine if we see any precipitation reach the ground. Dry levels of the atmosphere kept us from seeing much out of our last system. With no rain in the extended forecast, a lot of sunshine and temperatures near-normal will give us comfortable weather going forward.
