UPDATE: West Van Dorn accident sends family of five to the hospital

 UPDATE: 

Justin Kowalewski, 32, is suspected of causing a three-vehicle accident that happened on Saturday evening.

According to the Lancaster County Department of Corrections, Justin’s Blood Alcohol Content was more than 2 times over the legal limit.

Justin was also under the possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana at the time of the crash.

As of Sunday there is no additional information on the two adults in the vehicle.

At around 6 pm on Saturday, a Ford Focus carrying a family of five was traveling East Bound on West Van Dorn Street when the vehicle slipped and collided with a pickup truck.

First responders arrived to find the family of five, including three children, pinned and in need of rescue.

The family was rushed to Bryan Medical’s Trauma Center.

Officials say the two adults are in stable but serious condition.

The three children are all expected to be okay.

Police say a third pickup truck was being pulled out of the ditch when the Ford Focus lost control.

The roadway along West Van Dorn is back open for use.
