“Everything has changed and it’s just learning to adapt to the stipulations of how we have to run our businesses now and just to correlate with the health department,” says Brenda Failor, owner of Penelope’s Lil Cafe.

Penelope’s Lil Cafe near south 48th and Pioneers Boulevard is temporally open on weekends while the staff fixes the cafe for indoor dining. Failor is setting tables six feet apart from every angle preparing for the time when indoor eating is allowed. She also has a mobile card reader that she sanitizes and customers can use it to pay.

“Come on in,” says Failor. “We got our hot beef sandwich homemade gravy on Texas bread or we will be doing our turkey gobbler special which is a hot turkey sandwich with stuffing cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes.”

The café is open for pick up and curbside on Saturdays and Sundays and plans to return to normal hours in time. Failor thanks the community for their continued support.
