As we all know bars are reopening and adjusting to the new guidelines set, a local bar has been hit heavy in two different ways.
Spikes Beach Bar and Grill is used to having customers serve a volleyball as well as order food at the grill. Because of social distancing, the indoor and outdoor volleyball courts are closed. The owner says COVID–19 has affected business heavily.
“It’s almost like another full–time job to spend your time looking at everything,” said Derek Breemes. “That’s set all the parameters they’ve put out to try to make sure you’re doing it the right way and it’s a tough job for anybody to try to do I don’t want their job to try to figure all this out but yet it’s hard for us to put all the pieces together.”
The tables are spaced six feet apart and all employees wear masks. He thanks the volleyball community for continuing to support the business through the pandemic and hopes to open the courts when restrictions lift.
