One of Lincoln’s newest restaurants recently celebrated a year in business. The owner admits the virus has impacted work but they are still open.
“I’ve had to reduce hours because the restaurants have been closed and so I can’t pay people to wait on tables that are empty,” says Don Mayhew, owner of The Pasta Place.
The Pasta Place is located near north 61st street and Havelock avenue and business has slowed down. The restaurant has adjusted like many places, offering curbside and pick up services.
Mayhew says customers have the opportunity to create their own dish.
“People have been incredibly supportive, especially the local neighborhood,” says Mayhew. “The community has just been incredible but still I worry about the future. We’re in uncharted territory and no one knows whats going to happen.”
As soon as they apply for a liquor license, The Pasta Place hopes to serve wine and beer with take out and Mayhew hopes to continue serving the community. For more information visit www.pastaplacelincoln.com .
