LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park in Ashland is extending its season, thanks to a mild fall.

The park will remain open daily through Sunday, but starting Tuesday, hours will change to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

After Nov. 6, the park will only be open on Saturdays and Sundays if the weather permits, officials say.

“The mild fall is allowing all of us to enjoy the Wildlife Safari Park a bit longer this year,” Gary Pettit, superintendent of the park, said in a press release. “The colors and the change of seasons is beautiful so we hope many people will find some time to come out and enjoy.”

The 4-mile-long safari park includes bears, wolves, elk and bison.
