Winners announced for 2024 Lincoln Vegan Chef Challenge

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The monthlong Lincoln Vegan Chef Challenge has wrapped up, and the winning chefs were given their prizes.

The winners were chosen by Lincoln residents who dined at the participating restaurants during the challenge.

Over 100 people voted for various chefs and dishes, with many of them being super voters, diners who ate at three or more of the restaurants during the month of October.

Here is the list of winners announced on Monday:

  • 1st Place & Best Sandwich – Fleetwood
  • 2nd Place – Rita’s Pizza and Chicken
  • 3rd Place – Green Leaf Tea Co.

Category winners:

  • Best Asian Cuisine – Golden Wok
  • Best BBQ – Miller Time Pub and Grill
  • Best Breakfast – Hub Café
  • Best Catering/Meal Prep – Warm Bam Meal in a Pan
  • Best Coffee Shop – Rose Cat Coffee Company
  • Best Curry – Blue Orchid Thai Restaurant
  • Best Smoothies/Smoothie Bowls – Café Botanica
  • Best University Dining – UNL Housing and Dining
  • Best Veggie Burger – HF Crave
