LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — According to the Nebraska 511 Map, Friday’s winter weather is already affecting road conditions in southwestern and central Nebraska.

Lancaster County will be under a Winter Weather Advisory from nine o’clock Friday morning to noon on Saturday. Snow is expected along with slippery driving conditions, so make sure to be prepared for your commute.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) recommends filling up your gas tank, leaving early, and keeping to the main roads when traveling in winter weather.

Dress warm, or have extra layers on hand, and have a charged cellphone available in case you get stranded. The Nebraska State Patrol can also help with any road-related troubles, just call *55.
