Winter Storm Warning and High Wind Warning Issued for Sunday
The majority of Nebraska is under a Winter Storm Warning for the entirety of Sunday, making for a cold Easter.
Following a strong cold front, rain is expected to transition to snow throughout the morning and early afternoon hours, delivering an inch of snow to Lincoln with 2-6″ possible further north.
A High Wind Watch will also be in effect Sunday for the southeastern portion of the state as north winds of 20-30MPH could gust over 55MPH at times.
Heavy snow and gusting winds have the potential to down tree limbs and power lines, increasing the potential for power outages. Blowing snow could also create near blizzard conditions with visibility reduced to one-quarter mile. Easter travelers are advised to proceed with caution.
