Wives accused of stabbing their husbands in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two Nebraska wives were arrested in recent days after police say they stabbed their husbands.

The Grand Island Police Department says the first attack happened on Friday around 5 p.m.

Yudierquis Reyes Merino is accused of stabbing her 40-year-old husband in the leg with a kitchen knife.

Police say she also scratched his face and cut him up with a key, leaving wounds on his chest and hands.

Merino is charged with domestic assault and child abuse.  Police said a 7-month-old was present during the attack.

Then a 29-year-old man was hospitalized after his wife punctured one of his lungs, according to GIPD.

Officers say the victim also had a cut on his leg when they were called to CHI Health St. Francis on a little after midnight on Tuesday.

His wife’s kids told police that Isabel Sanchez-Vega also attacked them, leaving one of the girls with a broken nose.

The 13-year-old says she was hit in the face with a phone, while the 10-year-old was hit in the hands.

Sanchez-Vega is also charged with domestic assault and child abuse.
