Woman caught with stolen vehicle at north Lincoln storage facility, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested Tuesday after she was spotted with a stolen vehicle at a north Lincoln storage facility, police say.
Officers were searching for the vehicle, a 1998 Ford Escort, which had been stolen near 68th Street and Leighton Avenue.
Eventually, officers learned that the vehicle had been seen at Homebase Storage near 62nd Street and Cotner Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they found 39-year-old Julie Rodgers, who was taking items out of the stolen vehicle, police say.
She was then arrested on suspicion of theft by receiving stolen property, forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Officers later served a search warrant at the storage unit to look for an associate of Rodgers who may have been inside during the arrest.
By the time officers searched the unit, no one was inside.
