Woman identified after suspicious death from camper fire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) and Lincoln Police Department (LPD) responded to a camper fire on Aug. 26 around 11 a.m.

A woman was inside the camper when it was engulfed in flames, with a bystander running to save her.

The woman, now identified as 27-year-old Amber Spencer of Lincoln, died later that evening due to her injuries.

According to LPD, this case is currently being investigated as a suspicious death. An autopsy was scheduled for this morning.

Investigators are conducting witness interviews, requesting and reviewing digital evidence and video surveillance footage and analyzing physical evidence processed by Crime Scene Technicians.
