Woman pleads no contest in crash that killed Lincoln firefighter’s son

A Madison woman has entered her plea in a crash that left the son of a Lincoln firefighter dead.

Court documents show Daisy Gonzalez, 19, pleaded no contest to a charge of motor vehicle homicide.

According to the Platte County Sheriff, Gonzalez struck nearly head-on a motorcycle being driven by Joshua Gasper, the son of a Lincoln Fire and Rescue firefighter.

Gasper was flown by medical helicopter to the Creighton University Trauma Center in Omaha, where he received more than 70 units of blood before he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Prosecutors dropped a second charge of aiding and abetting a class II misdemeanor, according to court documents.

Gonzalez had originally pleaded not guilty.

She is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
