Woman ran off after headbutting 8-year-old outside of Lincoln school, court docs allege
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman has been accused of headbutting an 8-year-old student outside of Everett Elementary School on Friday.
Around 1:45 p.m., a teacher was walking her students outside the school, which is near 13th and C Streets.
The teacher then saw a woman who appeared to be intoxicated approaching them, according to an arrest affidavit filed Monday.
The woman, who was later identified as 25-year-old Mollyjo Taylor, started yelling at the students.
She then lunged at an 8-year-old student and headbutted them, causing a “noticeable contusion,” the affidavit alleges.
The teacher grabbed Taylor by the arm to stop her from attacking the other students, police said.
But she slipped away and ran off, according to the affidavit.
Later on, officers found Taylor near 10th and A Streets and took her into custody.
She has been charged with child abuse, a Class IIIa felony. If convicted, Taylor could face up to three years in prison.
