Woods Tennis Center Club vandalized, 16-year-old arrested

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln police have arrested a 16-year-old male after he and another individual vandalized the Woods Tennis Center Club on Friday.

Officers received a call to the Woods Tennis Center Club at 401 S. 33rd Street on an alarm. Officers arrived and found a shattered window. The director told officers someone had gained entry into the office and had stolen gift cards, cash and checks.

Security footage revealed two individuals had entered the building, stole the items and damaged a vending machine. LPD says the building had $800 worth of damage and an undisclosed loss.

On Saturday, officers contacted a 16-year-old male on an unrelated call for service. Officers recognized the male from the security footage of the burglary.

The officers arrested the 16-year-old for burglary and possession of burglar’s tools, they turned him over to the Youth Services Center.

LPD says the investigation is currently ongoing.
