York police officers ensure safe walking for first day of school
YORK, Neb. (KLKN) — The York Police Department (YPD) officers were welcoming kids back to school and working to keep them safe on the way.
Officers were stationed at crosswalks to ensure safe travel to school.
YPD officers urge the community to slow down and stay alert while driving, especially near schools and crosswalks.
They also remind residents that when a school bus has its stop arm extended and red lights flashing to stop and never pass.
