50 COVID-19 variant cases in Lancaster County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Today, LLCHD reports 33 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the community total to 30,779.

A total of 50 COVID variants have been identified within the county, more than 75% of the cases identified as the UK variant.

COVID NEWS: Nebraska to offer Johnson & Johnson vaccines following pause

The total number of deaths remains at 232.

More than 27,700 people have recovered from the virus and nearly 114,000 people have been fully vaccinated in Lancaster County.

Thirty-four COVID patients are hospitalized (23 are Lancaster County residents). Two patients are on ventilators.

  • Wednesday, April 28, Gateway Mall – first-dose drive-thru clinic at the garages of the former Sears store
  • Thursday, April 29, Pinnacle Bank Arena – second doses
