90° temperatures returning for the next few days
What a lovely day across southeast Nebraska on Saturday. While it was a chilly start (37° in Lincoln), temperatures were able to rebound into the upper-70s to low-80s. With Lincoln topping out at 81° on Saturday, that makes for a 44° swing in temperatures from morning to afternoon!
We’ll hang onto clear skies overnight, but temperatures will be much warmer to start your Sunday. We’re forecasting a low temperature in the middle-50s on Sunday morning in Lincoln.
Southerly winds persist into Sunday afternoon, which should allow temperatures to continue to climb. We’re forecasting a high temperature near 90° on Sunday in the capital city. Although temperatures may be warmer, the humidity will remain low.
The warm and dry streak continues on Monday and Tuesday with highs remaining in the upper-80s and low-90s. We cannot rule out an isolated evening shower mainly west of Lincoln on Tuesday, but Lincoln looks dry on Tuesday.
As things stand now, a disturbance is poised to arrive on Wednesday, perhaps bringing some scattered storms for southeast Nebraska. The arrival of this disturbance marks a drop in temperatures and an increase in rain chances which could last through next weekend.
