Man arrested in fatal pedestrian accident on Hwy. 77

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln police confirmed they have arrested a man involved in a fatal pedestrian accident last October.

LPD arrested 21-year-old Oscar Cortez on Jan. 7th for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in Death and no operator’s license.

On October. 20, 2021, officers were called to a pedestrian accident on Highway 77. LPD identified the victim as 56-year-old Timothy Beem, who died after being struck by a vehicle.

The collision caused delays for several hours in Lincoln.
