Police identify victim in Wednesday’s fatal crash on Hwy. 77

They say 56-year-old Timothy Beem died after a he was struck by a car on the highway. He died at the scene.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln police have identified the victim in Wednesday’s fatal car accident on Highway 77.

They say 56-year-old Timothy Beem died after a he was struck by a car on the highway. He died at the scene.

LPD determined that a multi-colored 2006 Inifiniti sedan and a brown 2007 Chevrolet Malibu sedan were southbound on Highway 77 between W O Street and Van Dorn St. at the time of the accident.  Beem had pulled over to the shoulder and exited his vehicle to retrieve debris from the roadway.  As he was walking westbound across the highway to return to his vehicle, he was struck by a vehicle.

No citations have been issued and the investigation is ongoing.

The collision caused delays for several hours in Lincoln.
