LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln East Spartan is well known on the football field and basketball court, but now he’s making a name for himself in a different way.

Malachi Coleman, 16, signed off on his first NIL deal with Muchachos, near 11th and K Street. He’s using his name, image, likeness to give back to foster care children, an organization near and dear to his heart.

“I was in the foster care system for about four years, I lived in four different homes, so I know what it’s like to be bounced around, not wanted, and all of that type of stuff. I know what those kids are feeling and I want to give back to them and show them that you can have someone to look up too,” Coleman said.

Proceeds went to KVC Nebraska and the Foster Care Closet.

Coleman says he felt warm inside seeing all of the support.
